What I've Been Up To: Relationships, Intimacy, Sex, and Pain
I must confess, I have neglected my blog in the past month. I love to write and share ideas, but sometimes blogging takes a backseat to other work. The other work in this case was a collaboration I was involved in with Pain BC, a fantastic organization whose vision is to "improve the lives of people in pain through education, empowerment, and innovation." Pretty cool stuff.
While the number of people who live with chronic pain in North America alone is staggering, the topic has not been and is still not being adequately addressed. Pain BC is working to change this. The group is working to increase awareness around the topic, and to educate people living in pain about their pain, how they can better manage it, and live rewarding lives despite the pain.
I am determined to spread the word that if you are living with chronic pain (and/or illness) you are not alone. These conditions can be incredibly isolating, and lead to feelings of intense loneliness and depression. If you live with pain I want you to know that your tribe is out here, we’re all struggling through this together, and there are resources and people out there you can connect with to feel less alone. I also want you to know that you are worthy of relationships, love, and intimacy, which is why I talk about these things. A lot.
So please, click on the links below to check out my contributions on Pain BC's interactive site, Live Plan Be, and share them with those who you think might also be interested:

And bonus: we are having a giveaway in connection with the book club. Anyone who asks me a question about sex, intimacy, or relationships on the Forum by June 30, 2017, will be entered in a draw to win a copy of Aches, Pains and Love!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments as usual, and I’ll see you on the Book Club Forum!
